FOR ADMINS
Credit Bureau Reporting
Make the monthly Metro 2 file for Equifax, Experian, TransUnion and Innovis.
Getting Set Up
- Sign a data furnisher agreement with each bureau. They give you an Identification Number and ask for a test file.
- Dashboard → Credit Reporting. Fill in Your Bureau Details and Save.
- Under Which Accounts to Report, enter the date you mailed each portfolio’s validation notices and click Report.
- Set the Type of Original Creditor for each client (payday and installment lenders are Financial).
Each Month
- Pick the Balances As Of date (usually the last day of the month) and click Preview.
- Check the Left Out list. Fix what you can (missing first delinquency dates, notice dates, addresses).
- Click Make File and Download, then upload the file on each bureau’s secure site.
Good to Know
- Paid accounts go out once as 62 (paid, was a collection). Settled ones get the AU comment if the status name has “settle” in it.
- Accounts that are closed, in bankruptcy, deceased, recalled, older than 7 years from first delinquency, or that you stop reporting, go out once as DA (delete).
- When a debtor disputes, open the account → Credit Reporting → Disputed. It goes out marked XB until you clear it.
- If a validation notice comes back undeliverable, tick that box; the account won’t be reported.
- Past files can be downloaded again from Past Files.
